Success Indicators for Explanation Writing
(How do we know that we have been successful in our writing?)
Our Explanations should have:
§ Topic is introduced with a definition or brief description. This could be in the form of a question
§ Explain points in order of importance.
§ End with a summary or conclusion of the ideas – an answer to your main question.
§ Technical and scientific words.
§ Action Verbs
§ Present Tense
§ Second or Third Person (Don’t say I, me or we)
